ABOUT BETH (they/them)

Beth has been a professional dog walker for over 6 years. They started their career with dogs working in a dog boarding kennel, and then switched to walking dogs in the community. They became interested in training by listening to lots of dog training podcasts, and taking classes with their own dogs in their free time.

Their dogs:

Ya Ya, pit bull (RIP) - sassy, velcro dog, queen of everything

Olli, 9 yr old pit bull mix - independent, but a momma's boy, lives for snacks and naps

Draco, 5 yr old Belgian Malinois - high drive, up for anything, "ball is life", loves to swim. In training for AKC obedience, IGP, dock diving, and other fun dog sports.

Linus, 4 yr old Border Collie - very dog social, loves to learn, will eat anything!

Nora, 1 yr old Border Collie - wild child, super friendly sweet girl

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy when training dogs is that "reinforcement drives behavior." Dogs will do what works for them to get the desired outcome. Therefore, we need to reward the behaviors we want repeated by using food, toys, personal play or social rewards. My training style is balanced and reward based, using a wide range of rewards and training tools based on what works best for each individual dog, family and situation.

I believe that dogs need proper exercise, enrichment, training, and mental stimulation to be their happiest and most fulfilled selves!
